The Nambale Magnet School is a residential school for vulnerable children, many of whom have been orphaned by the AIDS pandemic in the Nambale District of the Western Province of Kenya.

The School Today

In 2020 the school year was severely disrupted by COVID. In line with Kenyan government regulations, NMS students were sent home to reduce the spread of the disease. NMS staff visited the fully sponsored OVC's in their homes to ensure that they received adequate nutrition and support ... [ more ]

Faculty and Staff

The Nambale Magnet School has an outstanding staff led by the Director of the school, Reverend Evelyn Wakhusama. She is supported by a head teacher, social worker, and deputy head teacher, each of whom is responsible for different programs at the School. Both environmental and financial sustainability have been priorities of the School from the start; even before the first shovel hit the ground. Current measures to support self-sustainability include natural resource conservation projects, agricultural initiatives, and school fees paid by families who are able. [ more ]
