May 15, 2020 - As the Coronavirus is shutting down Kenya as a whole, the number of cases continue to climb and are now spiking in the Nambale region.  Despite this, the staff of the Nambale Magnet School are working hard to keep the children safe and on task. April 1, 2020 - Late in March, on the Government's directive, the last of the students at the Nambale Magnet School were sent home. March 17, 2020 - Since the Coronavirus started making headlines, the Nambale Magnet School has been vigilant about the threat. Our School nurse took the NMS staff through an exercise of mitigating the threat of COVID-19; she emphasized regular hand washing, sanitizing all places, distancing self and created awareness of what to do in the event of a suspected case. Yesterday, following the Government's directive, we released all learners to go back home for a period yet to be announced. January 1, 2020 - The hard work in preparing for the 8th grade exam has paid off once again with the Nambale Magnet School's test scores still among the top of the entire Busia County.  This track record of excellence has done a lot to boost the children's self-confidence and goals for the future. October 31, 2019 - All the hard work and studying is finally over for this group of eighth graders. The results of the exam will determine the children's academic future. We were joined at the school by Dr. Nancy Murray a member of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) a professional teacher honor society who has recently started a partnership of teachers exchange with the Nambale magnet School. [ more ]

September 6, 2019 - A group representing the Sat Nam Foundation performed a week of fellowship and service at NMS. Through their fund raising efforts, they were able to raise enough to supply the school with a solar energy system that will be constructed in early 2020. This is an ecological win and will bring operating costs down significantly while offering a more reliable source of electricity ... It's the School's 10 year anniversary and the event was commemorated by a walk through the streets of Nambale. This event was designed to involve the community, spread good will, and allow the students to show their school spirit as they have ranked #1 again, this time for the entire Busia County! [ more ]

December 4, 2018 - It is hard to believe that this graduating class marks the third graduating class and the 11th year of the Nambale Magnet School since it opened its doors to the first baby class of 30 three and four year olds. [ more ]

July 13, 2018 - Rotary International Grant Allows for Construction of Full Cycle Water System and Waste to Fuel Biodigester. The Nambale Magnet School will soon start the implementation of a full cycle water system thanks to a grant request funded by Rotary International. [ more ]

March 29, 2018 - Jambo! This is a Kenyan greeting, meaning hello! The first term at the Nambale Magnet School (NMS) is coming to an end this week. The school has been in session for the last twelve weeks. We received new learners in January, a record increase since the school began in 2009... [ more ]

November 21, 2017 - The First 8th grade graduating class this year was top in the region on the 8th grade standardized test of Kenya. We were able to find scholarships for all of our students! This year's candidates sat for the test and the results are now in. [ more ]

October 4, 2017 -  Prayasam, an NGO based in India visited the Nambale Magnet School and spent the weekend at the school with learners teaching them life skills, games, songs and dance... [ more ]

August 16, 2017 -  With the generous donation of sewing machines, a sewing lab has been added to the Nambale Magnet School. Now instead of purchasing mosquito nets for beds and uniforms, the school has the capability of making their own. As with the farm, the sewing lab also offers the children an additional learning opportunity. A plan is set in motion to offer sewing lessons to the curriculum for those who are interested. [ more ]

July 26, 2017 - Once a year, the Nambale Magnet School has a tradition of holding a sports day for the learners on either the last Saturday of June or first Saturday of July. This year sports day was hosted on July 2nd and the event drew learners, staff, parents, guardians and two neighboring schools to participate. [ more ]

July 6, 2017 - Some of our recent graduates are now in High School busy doing amazing things. Alpha and Jackson in the same school and were our top two learners in last year's KCPE results. Both Alpha and Jackson are doing very well. Alpha recently attended a mentoring program for a week organized by the First Lady in Kenya. Jackson and Joy Lilian, another of the Nambale Magnet School's top learners will also attending the program this week... [ more ]

May 20, 2017 - A group of parishioners from a church in Miami recently came to visit and share in some maintenance and fellowship with the population of the Nambale Magnet School. While visiting the school the parishioners helped by painting recently renovated teacher housing buildings... [ more ]

December 1, 2016 - The Nambale Magnet School topped the Busia District in the Eighth grade National Test! The highest score was 421. There were 6 students with over 400 marks, 12 with 350 marks and above, the mean score is 361.9!
